Questionwhen you use the sulfuric acid to precipitate out the lead, does it not re-disolve in the aqua regia going back into solution?

I've run into this , but I'm wornering where the gold went if it;s not in solution. It's like it disappeared into thin air. Can you tell me where it went and or how I can get it back if possible?

I recently came across what looks like melted silver that may have gold in it. The guy who owns it got it from an estate sale. How can you test it to see if it is or not. Would the scratch test work? The silver looks like it's been melted and then dropped in water and has a brassish tinge to it. I know if I scratched it and tested it for silver it should turn red but how would you test it for the gold in it?

I was expecting something when the ice cubes were added to the acid as the rule is acid into water not water into acid. The gold looks so beautiful in the end.

My first run with the cell made very tight small faceted bright white crystals. My second run made crystals more similar to what has grown in the cell in this video. More elongated larger faceted very reflective silver chunky crystals. Very curious as to what changed. They are both very beautiful in their own way, but noticeably different. The electrolyte was fresh on the first run and once used on the second. Thats the only difference I can think of. Perplexed....

You can do electrolysis of gold chloride in water. No need acid.

I am remembering that you used several hydrochloric bolls to wash the zinc off of black pgm solids that you precipitated with zinc. Could something like that have worked here? Perhaps right after the gold was precipitated with zinc?
